    Salary Range: $2,656 – $4,312/Monthly

    Work Schedule: Full-time; Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; non-exempt classification.

    Essential Functions: Under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for collecting, sorting, and distribution of incoming United States Postal Services and campus mail to on campus and off campus locations. The incumbent will processes internal and external correspondence, materials, and equipment for distribution throughout the University; prepare correspondence, material, and equipment for outgoing shipment via common carriers; operate material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport items in a safe manner; check items against packing slips and bill of lading, to verify accuracy; move heavy packages and equipment; provide quality customer service; enter relevant data in computer systems; assist with the basic maintenance of office systems and supplies; and assist with the supervision of student employees.

    Required Qualifications & Experience: One year of experience assisting in the receipt, storage or issuance of materials from a centralized stockroom or warehouse, including some experience in the operation of forklift trucks or similar power-operated materials handling. Prospective applicants who do not have the experience listed may be considered eligible based on other evidence of meeting the above minimum qualifications. Must possess a valid California Driver License. Incumbent must have working knowledge of method, practices, and equipment used in receiving, storing, packing, and shipping materials and supplies; and current postage rates and shipping rules and regulations. Incumbent must have general knowledge of methods of taking inventories and maintaining inventory records; and office methods, supplies and equipment. Incumbent must have the ability to match names and numbers quickly and accurately; keep records and make reports; read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; make mathematical calculations quickly and accurately; operate powered materials handling equipment; apply safe methods of moving heavy supplies and equipment; perform manual labor; establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with others; lift 70 lbs; and ability and/or interest in working with a multicultural/multiethnic population. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.
